Bear Mountain Monday – Sunset hike
July 13 @ 6:50 pm - 8:50 pm
Join us for a faster paced workout at Bear Mountain. *This is not a beginner hike.*
We will ascend on the Major Welch trail (red circle), go to the moon rocks for a beautiful sunset (sharp right turn at the elevation peak following blue trail markers and then white rectangle AT trail towards “south mountain”), and back down to the inn on the AT (white rectangle).
Faster hikers are not obligated to wait for slower hikers. You must feel comfortable completing the hike on your own should you fall behind or separate from the group. There is no sweep. If you are unsure whether or not this is for you, please message me with any questions prior to the day of the hike.
Make sure you have a copy of the map, a working headlamp, spare batteries (if necessary), and 1-2 liters of water.
We will start the hike at 6:50PM, sharp. If you aren’t sure about the location or want to review the route beforehand, please come a few minutes earlier – as the group leaves on time.
There are no guests. Please have your friends join HVH – its free.
Distance: about 4.25 miles
Gain: 1200′ on the ascent
Hike time: About 2 hours
